DR. Murli Nagasundaram

Dr. Murli Nagasundaram is a consultant on creativity, innovation and design thinking. He has a PhD in Management Information Systems (U of Georgia, Athens); PGDM (IIM Kolkata); and BE (NIT Tiruchirapalli); and was a tenured faculty at the College of Business, Boise State University, Boise, Idaho, USA.

Murli has conducted research in software support for creative thinking and helped develop VisionQuest, a pioneering collaborative software to structure and augment group interaction and stimulate creative thinking. He has also has taught, conducted workshops, facilitated business teams, and consulted at institutions and corporations in the US, Singapore, Dubai, and India.

Satish Ramachandran

Satish Ramachandran is the Global head of design at Nutanix where he is dedicated to applying design to reimagine enterprise computing. Satish ensures the products being built reflect the user’s intent, with minimal, simple and delightful interactions. Additionally, he strives to scale the design organization and processes to keep pace with rapid growth.

Prior to Nutanix, Satish held a variety of management and technical leadership roles over the past two decades at computing infrastructure companies such as DataDomain (EMC), Andiamo (Cisco), and Tandem (HP). A deep background in engineering coupled with a long standing interest in literature, music, cognition, human behavior and philosophy enable him to bridge the twin worlds of design and engineering effectively. Satish holds an M.S. in computer science. He lives in Silicon valley with his family.

“Reimagining Enterprise computing using Design” (Keynote)

Today's Enterprise computing infrastructure is composed of various technology silos such as compute, storage and networking. These silos have evolved independently over time leading to overall complexity.

Meanwhile, technology has become commoditized, ubiquituos and cheap.

The scale of deployments are massive.

Complexity coupled with scale has led to slowness and an increase in cost.

Meanwhile, the need for speed and agility in IT has increased since it impacts business agility overall.

These observations motivate us to take a fresh look at the entire Enterprise computing infrastructure and its purpose.

This talk focuses on how design is used to reframe the Enterprise computing infrastructure problem and solve for it.

Dr.Deepak John Mathew

Dr.Deepak John Mathew, currently the Head of the Department and Associate Professor of the M Des Department, Hyderabad IIT, wears several golden feathers in his cap of achievements. Inclined to mathematics, science and technology, Dr.Mathew took his first bachelors degree in Physics from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Inspired by the intellectual environment in

which he spent his formative years, he decided to pursue a career in Fine Arts and joined Trivandrum Fine Arts College and took a Bachelors Degree in Painting. He pursued it further by joining at the illustrious fine arts faculty in Baroda and obtained a Masters Degree in Graphic Arts. All this while, Dr.Mathew has been an avid learner and practitioner of Photography and Design. In 1996, he passed the National Eligibility Test conducted the UGC. In the same year he got a Fellowship from the UGC for doing his PhD. As recognition of his academic and creative excellence in 1996 itself he was awarded the Inlaks Fine Arts Award. In the following years he obtained the National Scholarship instituted by the HRD Ministry, Government of India, Kanoria Award, Young Artist of the Year Award by the Alliance Franciase, New Delhi. Dr.Mathew’s relentless efforts in designing education programs for Photography and general design brought him innumerable recognition, awards and funds from various agencies that include India Habitat Centre, Farnham, UK, Commonwealth Fellowship, UKIERI India-UK Study Fellowship, Partnership Development Seed Grant from Shastri Foundation and so on.
